Discover all stair treads for our staircases
Spira offers several types of stair treads to meet your needs in terms of comfort, safety, design and budget. All our solutions are designed to integrate seamlessly with indoor staircases, outdoor staircases and compact staircases, with particular attention to durability.
Our wooden stair treads
All our wooden stair treads are made from 40 mm thick laminated wood.
This construction reduces internal stresses and prevents warping, ensuring a stable, long-lasting tread suitable for intensive use. Wooden treads are only used on our indoor staircases. Every wooden tread is available in two finishes:
-
Varnished: a matt, colourless varnish that preserves the natural colour of the wood while protecting it, with a soft, modern look that fits easily into contemporary interiors.
-
Oiled: an oiled finish gives more sheen and a deeper tone to the wood. It enhances the grain and creates a more traditional, rustic appearance, ideal for warm and authentic spaces.

BeechBeech is our standard wood, offering excellent value for money. It is a hardwood, ideal for stair construction, with a light tone that pairs naturally with steel stringers. It is usually supplied with a nearly colourless water-based urethane varnish that keeps its bright, clean look. | OakOak is the preferred choice for a warm and traditional atmosphere. Its legendary strength makes it a reliable option for your staircase. With a clear water-based varnish, oak keeps a light, contemporary tone. When waxed or oiled, it becomes darker, closer to the classic oak look. | BambooBamboo is an extremely hard, fast-growing material that is valued for its environmental profile. Its slightly caramel tone creates a very warm atmosphere. Bamboo can be varnished, oiled or waxed, depending on the finish you want. | Kambala (Iroko)Iroko Kambala is a dark, exotic hardwood, particularly dense and robust. It is perfect for interiors with a strong character. A water-based varnish already gives it a fairly deep shade, which becomes even richer when oiled or further varnished. |
Our steel stair treads
Steel stair treads give your staircase a distinctly contemporary, industrial style, perfectly suited to certain stair models and to outdoor staircases. They can be supplied in different ways:
-
With grey or black anti-rust primer, ready to be painted by you.
-
Varnished: for some compact staircase models, treads can be delivered already varnished.
-
Powder-coated: an oven-baked powder coating available in different colours, as an additional option.
-
Galvanised: treads are dipped in molten zinc for optimal corrosion protection, ideal for outdoor staircases.

Raw SteelRaw steel treads are produced from 10 mm solid steel. From day one they show subtle marks of their fabrication: scratches, colour variations, “flames”, light corrosion… These marks evolve over time and give your staircase a vibrant, distinctive industrial character. | Stainless SteelFor a limited number of models, we manufacture treads in 8 mm stainless steel. They are always supplied in a matt finish, never brushed, to limit reflections and create a sober, contemporary look that works particularly well in outdoor settings. | Steel / aluminium chequer plateSteel or aluminium chequer plate treads have a strong industrial look. Used in particular on our Classic model, they are folded to ensure stability and strength. They are cleaned and require virtually no special maintenance, but they are also the least sound-absorbing material in our range. | Galvanised steelWith hot-dip galvanised steel, the treads benefit from excellent corrosion resistance and a very long lifespan. Their slightly speckled metallic grey finish underlines the technical, industrial style of the staircase and requires very little maintenance. |
Our other stair treads
Spira is constantly working on new types of stair treads, aiming to modernise its range and offer more environmentally friendly solutions. This is why we also propose recycled synthetic treads.
